Haute Couture

Ya han pasado unos dias desde el fin de los desfiles de Alta Costura en Paris. Podria haber hecho muchos post, antes, durante y despues, resumiendo lo mejor o escogiendo favoritos pero lo que me apetece hacer es un homenaje a Galliano por hacer semejante coleccion para Dior.

It´s been some days since the ending of the Haute Couture colections in Paris. I could have posted before, meanwhile or after, making summaries of the best or choosing my favorurites. THis post will have my favourites but above all, it´s meant to be a thankful tribute to John Galliano for his collection for DIOR

A mi parecer las colecciones de Alta Costura tienen que hacernos soñar con lujo y elegancia, grandes vestidos casi imposibles de ser vistos fuera de la pasarela, no ser una continuacion del pret-a-porter. Chanel, Christian Lacroix, Givenchy y Armani son unos maestros de la aguja y crearon colecciones llamativas y preciosas y quiero dejar claro que me gustaron pero salvo algunos modelos, me parecieron demasiado simples para ser Haute couture.

From my point of view, Haute Couture has to make us dream of luxury and elegance, big dresses almost impossible to be worn outside the catwalk, not being a pret-a-porter part II. Chanel, Christian Lacroix, Givenchy y Armani are genius and their collections were of course more than correct, even brilliant and I really liked them but I think that almost all the time were to simple for the ocassion.

A lo mejor el problema es que el de Dior fue el primer desfile que analice, y puso el liston tan alto que nada llego a su altura. Me ha sido dificil escoger, pero aqui estan algunos de mis favoritos. Maybe it is because the DIor colection was the first one I analysed in detail and I liked it so much that everything else was under the lever. It´s been difficult for me to choose only some pictures but these are the chosen ones:

No se si este vestido pretende ser de novia pero lo dudo. Aun asi pido a todas las fashionistas millonarias que esten buscando un vestido de novia que lo consideren. Estoy segura de que Galliano estaria dispuesto a hacer las flores en un color mucho mas claro, incluso un plateado muy tenue y sin nada de brillo. Me lo compraria ahora mismo y se que incluso dentro de 10 años querria seguir llevandolo en mi boda!!

I don´t know if this was meant to be a wedding gown but I doubt it. Even knowing this, I would like to ask to the millionaire fashionistas of the world to consider it if they are looking for a wedding dress. I´m sure Galliano will do it with the flowers in a lighter colour, imagine a very light silver with not shine. I could buy it right now and I´m sure I would still want to wear it in my wedding even if its in 10 years!!
